AVRDUDE is a console-type software that allows you to re-flash microcontrollers of any model. The application contains different types of flashing tools.

The software is implemented as a minimalistic console and has no graphical interface. If you are used to working with applications that have a GUI shell, you may have some difficulties when using this software. For professionals and typical linuxoids, this interface will not be a problem in the performance of tasks, but rather an advantage due to its speed. Nevertheless, for beginners there are third-party extensions in the form of a graphical shell (AVRDUDE Prog utility), which is designed for the console original and brings it into a familiar form for ordinary users. Control in AVRDUDE is done through the command line terminal, by entering commands.

The main profile of the program is re-flashing of microcontrollers from Atmel. In addition to this key area, the software can easily interact with other devices from other manufacturers. Here is a list of the main functions that are available to users:
