Magic TXD

Magic TXD program, designed for Windows, acts as an editor of TXD format files. The main purpose of the program is to draw innovative textures for video games. Features also include editing individual maps and entire levels, as well as viewing the contents of archives and customizing the implementation in the context menu.

Compatibility

The compatibility of this program covers opening and editing TXD format files for the following video games:

• Vice City and San Andreas from the GTA series;
• Sonic Heroes;
• Manhunt;
• many others...

The utility supports all known DXT-type compression algorithms and allows you to build game texture packs for different game platforms, including Xbox and Play Station.

Editing

When starting work with the utility, the user specifies the path to the desired archive, selects the texture to edit, changes the format, adds an image and defines texture display parameters. After editing, it is possible to save the result not only in the specialized formats TGA and DDS, but also in the more familiar PNG or JPG. The program allows you to use the MIP texturing method to control the quality of displayed objects, where for each image are created copies with different details. The technology allows you to automatically select the best picture depending on the settings and resolution of the display.
