Surfer

Surfer is a Windows application that allows contouring, terrain mapping and surface modeling of different levels of complexity. The set of tools is used in many fields - cartography, geology and others. A full-fledged table processor is provided, which can be used to analyze the data set obtained in various studies.

Templates

The program allows you to create different types of maps, including three-dimensional ones, in a convenient step-by-step mode. For this purpose, the Map Wizard module is provided, which you need to launch and select a suitable template from the catalog. At the initial stage, you can customize the mode of displaying isolines and grid. The working area allows you to quickly change the properties of individual map fragments - a double click opens a separate panel with its properties. To add realism, you can add light sources to the desired areas, edit the current color scheme, specify the slope gradient and adjust the current generation of shadows from objects in the working area. You can work with multiple layers, add captions and images from external files. There is a function to export the project to formats supported by third-party applications. Similarly, you can export an external file and continue working.

Calculations

The spreadsheet data processing module allows you to load measurement results and analyze them. This opens up a wide range of possibilities - calculating the area of curved surfaces, obtaining the volume of complex shapes and much more. It is possible to process matrices, which can also be used at the calculation stage.
