The Rasterbator

The Rasterbator is a Windows application that allows you to process a normal photograph for use on larger sized posters. The final image is formed using individual circles of different sizes. Export to PDF is supported. All major graphic file formats are supported. The final poster size can be specified manually or you can choose one of the templates from the ready set, all popular formats are available.

Preparation

The application does not require installation in the system. It is enough to run the executable file to open the main interface. Next, you need to specify the canvas parameters. You can use the standard labeling A3 or A4, as well as specify arbitrary values. Next, you need to specify the number of sheets for the final assembly. There is a preview panel that allows you to evaluate the result of work at any stage and quickly make changes if necessary. It is possible to quickly find out the real size of each page, adjusting the parameters if necessary.

Creating a poster

The final image is formed using a set of circles with the desired size. It is possible to explicitly specify the color scheme and point size. You can use the original palette or use only one shade - the parameters depend on the features of the original image. It is possible to add and customize the gap between sheets. After checking all the parameters, you need to specify the directory for the new file and confirm the start of conversion. Any application for working with PDF documents can be used for viewing.
