Blockbench

Blockbench is a Windows application that allows you to create 3D objects and work with animation. Scripts and third-party plugins can be used to extend the functionality. Initially, the project was focused on creating content for Minecraft, but now it is actively used in other platforms. You can create not only characters, but also design the main locations and game items.

Modeling

After launching the program, you need to select the type of the current project. It is possible to create models that consist entirely of cubes, which is a reference to the cult game. Objects can be conveniently moved, grouped, stretched, rotated and perform other operations. At the same time, most of the operations are performed with the mouse, which speeds up the work. You can change the scale, which allows you to view individual elements of the figure and correct them if necessary. A separate panel is responsible for working with textures. The material can be customized for each element.

Animation

Another interesting function of the program is the creation of animation. In the editor interface, you can create animation frame by frame, viewing it in a separate player. The finished project can be saved to a file for sending to friends.

Plug-ins

Experienced users can expand the functionality through various plug-ins. They allow to facilitate work with textures, add new tools, support for new formats and much more. It is also possible to create your own sets of scripts, which allows you to automate routine operations.
