PhotoScan

PhotoScan is a Windows application that allows you to generate 3D models using standard photos from different angles as input data. It is actively used by game developers to create realistic models of the real world - buildings, interior elements, lighting fixtures and much more. You can use special anchor points, which allows you to preserve the proportions.

Modeling

After launching the application, you need to select and upload source data - photos from different angles (at least two). After confirming the operation, the built-in algorithm will analyze the photos and generate the corresponding three-dimensional model. Additional settings are provided at this stage. There is a function of automatic selection of textures. If it is important to maintain accurate proportions, it is necessary to set reference points in advance. For convenience, you can add a coordinate grid and activate the device snap. This allows you to form a matrix of heights and calculate the desired projection of the device. There is a possibility to use scripts to automate the primary processing of images. The Python language is used for this purpose. In some cases, the mode of creating a final model based on standard polygons will be useful. This option can be found in the settings.

Saving

All popular extensions, including COLLADA and U3D, are supported for project saving. It should be taken into account that the export function becomes available only after purchasing a license.
