GanttProject

GanttProject is a Windows application for organizing work on projects. You can plan the main stages, distribute tasks, and evaluate the efficiency of work at intermediate stages. Gantt charts, which have long been used to illustrate a schedule or work plan, are actively used for analysis. It is possible to generate detailed reports and evaluate the current level of efficiency.

Gantt chart

At the initial stage of work, it is necessary to generate an initial list of tasks and enter preliminary deadlines. The data set is converted into bar charts where bars (tasks) are placed along the time axis. This allows you to visually see the due dates, sequence, load at a certain point in time, and so on. You can set a priority for each task, add a text note, and mark important areas with a separate color. This allows you to quickly assess the entire scope of work. It is possible to export the finished project; various formats, including PDF, are supported.

Resource management

Another popular feature is the ability to assign responsibility for certain tasks. It is enough to create a list of employees, specify their roles and basic information, including contact details. A separate module allows you to automate the calculation of total costs using the pre-entered payment rates of various specialists. The general view of the project can be opened in the PERT-diagram mode, integration into third-party platforms, such as Microsoft Project, is supported. A full-featured collaboration mode is implemented.
