Resource Hacker

Resource Hacker is a Windows application for viewing and extracting individual components of dynamic libraries and executable files. It is possible to compile scripts, extract images, clips, audio and other content. The resulting files can be saved to a local disk and used normally. The interface allows you to open and edit SCR, MUI, EXE and DLL files.

Viewing

After opening the program, you need to select the appropriate file to study using the menu. After loading, the structure of available resources is displayed in the form of a convenient directory tree on a separate panel. This allows you to navigate even in complex projects that often contain nested directories. You can access and edit dialog boxes, images, program code, and other file types. It is possible to extract or substitute certain resources. It is possible to integrate new buttons or windows completely. Two modes are available for operation - command line (for advanced users) and a convenient graphical interface.

Compiler

Creation and compilation of scripts with RC extension is supported. The built-in editor allows even inexperienced users to correct the current interface and initiate translation of the module into another language. Current error messages are displayed on a separate panel, which allows you to control the work process. Additional directives for controlling the process of program code execution (transitions, conditions and so on) and the function of adding comments are supported, which makes the work easier.
