The Com0com application is designed to create a set of virtual ports, as well as interact with the ReactOS platform. It uses a simple installation that will not cause difficulties even for novice users.

Installation process

After downloading, you need to find and run the boot file. The utility will automatically determine the optimal parameters and create virtual ports that will be associated with the modem. After the installation process is complete, you need to press the Apple button so that the operating system automatically checks for the presence of new peripheral equipment and activates the desired mode. Then you can immediately go to the settings section, where for convenience it is recommended to rename ports and configure other parameters. If the task is to change the number of ports, the application must be launched with elevated privileges.

The virtual machine should be connected to port index 1, the application that acts as a terminal to another port. It is also necessary to enter the settings and make sure that the "do not control the flow" option is deactivated. If the item is enabled, the terminal will not be able to receive information correctly, which will cause an error. It is possible to change the access speed, but in most cases this parameter does not affect the work. During ReactOS operation, a full-fledged COM port is created. In this case, the emulation of the communication channel between the platform and the new terminal is carried out, for this purpose a modem cable is used.
