FreeArc

FreeArc is a Windows application for working with archives. It uses an algorithm that provides a high degree of compression for files of various types. It is possible to protect important data with a password. Twofish, Serpent, AES and Blowfish encryption algorithms are supported. Convenient extensions for FAR Manager and Total Commander file managers are available. User-friendly interface is used, frequently used elements are placed on the main panel.

Unpacking and compression

After launching the program, you can select an archive to view files without unpacking. You can navigate through directories and open files. You can extract all contents to a specified directory. All common archive formats are supported, including 7Z and ARC. It is possible to create self-extracting archives. They have a .exe extension and do not require any third-party software for unpacking - all the necessary components are already built in. To create a new archive, you just need to select the necessary files and specify the directory where it should be created. When sending important documents, you can additionally protect the container with a complex password. You can also specify the type of compression. Creating self-extracting archives is supported.

Tools

The mode of testing the file for data integrity is supported. You can view the contents of the archive without unpacking. It is possible to sort files by size, name, date and other parameters. There is a field for adding comments.
