Virtual CloneDrive

Virtual CloneDrive is a Windows application that allows you to emulate physical optical disk drives. Up to 8 images can be activated simultaneously. BIN, CDD and ISO files are supported. It is possible to save the program history and automatically mount the last file when you open the program. This allows you to use content that is distributed only in the format of images of real disks. For example, it can be old games. At the same time, many modern PCs are no longer equipped with this module, which makes images popular.

Principle of operation

The application is a classic physical drive emulator that allows you to connect image files and use them as separate partitions. At the same time, the corresponding drive is displayed in the usual place in the "My Computer" panel. The principle of operation is also similar to a standard drive for working with optical disks.

Mounting

After installation, the program icon will be added to the notification area. Management is also performed through this element. To connect a new disk, right-click on the icon, select virtual drive and image file. The function of automatic disk ejection after closing the program is available. The utility can work with images that are created in other applications, just use the supported format. The number of virtual drives is limited - no more than 15. No more than 8 images can be connected at the same time. In the settings you can activate the data buffering mode, which allows you to reduce the number of errors during data reading. The list of virtual disks can be saved as a file.
