OpenToonz

OpenToonz is a Windows application for creating cartoons and animation. The project is distributed with open source code. Tools for creating characters, working with scenes, automatic coloring of frames are available. There is a built-in catalog of effects and additional components. TWAIT technology is supported, which allows you to directly download content from the scanner. It is worth considering that the control is initially oriented to work with a touch screen.

Drawing

After launching the program, you will be prompted to create a new project. The workspace and drawing set will be displayed. You can add straight lines, geometric shapes and other elements. Scene parameters are configured through a separate panel - you can specify the color scheme, frame rate, and so on.

Animation

Various effects, such as distortions, can be added to give a unique atmosphere to the story. You can customize transitions between frames, as well as integrate scripts to quickly organize similar movements. In many cases, this noticeably reduces the time spent working on a project. Several ready-made schemes for processing are built in. At any stage you can activate the preview mode to evaluate the result. For complex scenes you can switch to the mode with several layers. The finished project can be saved in video or image format. For this purpose, the built-in converter is used, which allows you to specify the necessary parameters of the final file. You can customize the resolution, frame rate and much more.
