TightVNC

TightVNC is a Windows application for remote computer control and file transfer. The main difference from its analogues is the use of its own server to organize connection. A large number of users can connect to one server at the same time. The platform is cross-platform, and the application itself is distributed with open source code.

Configuration

After installing the program, you need to specify the basic parameters of the connection. You need to create an administrator password and allow incoming connections. It is possible to specify the ports to which data will be transmitted.

Management

When connecting to a PC, its IP address is used as an identifier; you can also use the device name. Enter it in the special window and click Connect. If all the settings have been entered correctly, the remote desktop will be displayed in the window. If the bandwidth of the channel is not enough, you can disable the wallpaper on the desktop, which will reduce the amount of data. This will allow you to manage your computer more comfortably. A separate panel allows you to view information about the current connection and save the session as a file with the VNC extension. There is a possibility to switch to the mode of receiving and transmitting files, also supported key combinations. The developers guarantee a high level of protection of the channel used for connection. This is important because attackers may try to compromise the connection and attack the PC after gaining access.
