UltraDefrag

UltraDefrag is a Windows application for hard disk defragmentation. Scripts are supported to automate a set of actions, there is a built-in scheduler for scheduled work.

Analysis

After launching, the user needs to select the disk to be scanned. Then it is necessary to confirm the start of scanning. All current file systems are supported. After the initial diagnosis, a report is displayed in the form of a visual map of file distribution. A convenient color marking is used - empty space, fragmented files and so on. A separate panel displays general statistics, including the percentage of fragmented files and the amount of occupied space.

Defragmentation

There is an automatic mode, where the process starts automatically during periods of PC idle time. The background mode is also implemented, which requires a minimum amount of hardware resources. This scheme of operation will allow you to maintain the required level of fragmentation without user participation. There are tools for forced defragmentation of locked files, for example, those that are currently being used by the operating system. A schedule for periodic maintenance can be set up to maintain the system. There is a built-in script editor to automate routine operations. Fragmentation effects are often the cause of computer slowdown. It takes much longer to read data from different areas of the drive because the read head must be moved to a new area. At the same time, files can be split into a large number of parts and be relatively far apart.
