CmosPwd

CmosPwd is a Windows application for recovering a password that provides access to BIOS. In the process of operation, the utility can interact with CMOS memory, which is used for long-term storage of the main parameters of the PC hardware configuration. It is possible to create backups and delete data.

Password recovery

Physically, the CMOS memory is realized in the form of a separate chip that is mounted on the motherboard. The ability to reliably store the main parameters of the computer ensures the correct startup and connection of nodes after turning on the PC. To gain access to the parameters, you often need a special password. This application allows you to restore full access in case of its loss. Supported platforms are AMI BIOS, Packard Bell, Compaq and a number of others. The program does not use a software shell, all work is done in command line mode. It must be run with administrator privileges, as it requires access to important system components. After startup, the password search and recovery mode is automatically activated.

Working with memory

The following module allows the CMOS memory to be completely cleared. During the next startup, the board will detect the absence of data and record the current hardware configuration. It is also possible to reset BIOS parameters to standard values or save them as a backup. These manipulations can be used to restore the device in case of failure or incorrect configuration.
