BMW DIS

BMW DIS is a unique software product developed by BMW engineers for owners of old models of BMW cars and some Mini Coopers, in order to diagnose and debug them. The utility is fully russified and is an official dealer development. The main difficulty in its use is launching, as the tool is not supported by new versions of Windows. The product can be launched using VMWare - a virtual machine. The setup itself is clear and does not require special professional knowledge.

Compatibility and features of the utility

The BMW DIS utility can be used to retrieve, code and adapt information from the electronic control units of E, F and X series vehicles from 1995 to 2009. The system is compatible with OPPS, BMW Inpa, GT1, ICOM and OPS adapters. Diagnostics can be started after connecting the adapter to the computer via BMW Inpa cable. The original version of the product does not run on the usual Windows operating system, but on Unix. With the help of the program you can detect malfunctions in various systems (EWS, DDE and others), decipher them and get a hint on how to fix them. The interface of the system contains many different sections, some of them are accompanied by help and brief information component. In addition, there is a panel of additional tools and documents, but it is not translated into Russian and is available only in English.

Additional features

In addition to the diagnostic and debugging functions, the BMW DIS software package provides basic vehicle information such as current dashboard readings, serial number, VIN and more. These data can be found directly in the main working window of the program. With the help of this complex, you can perform various tests on the car: activate all or certain units, reset the service interval to zero and adjust other parameters. Another of the unusual functions can be noted conversion from one system and units of measurement to others. However, BMW DIS does not have complex filters, the architecture of the utility is quite simple, suitable for a confident PC user, without special knowledge.
