Universal USB

Universal USB is a Windows application for creating bootable disks. All common distributions are supported, including the Linux family. The program does not require installation and works in a convenient step-by-step mode.

Selecting an image

After launching the main window, you need to select the type of distribution, using the drop-down list. You can write any type of image - operating systems, antivirus and other tools for diagnostics and system recovery. This mode is often used if it is necessary to restore the performance of systems after a failure. You can get access to the file system, tools for automatic recovery, and so on. The next step is to specify the path to the required image. You also need to connect an external drive and select it from the list of available drives. Recognition is performed in automatic mode.

Recording

During the setup process, it is recommended to activate the option to format the disk. This will allow you to properly prepare the drive and avoid possible errors. If important data is present, it should be saved to another location. After making and checking all the settings, you should press the Create button to start the recording process. It is important not to disconnect the drive at this stage as there is a risk of damaging it. A notification will be activated when the process is complete. After that the module can be removed. Next, you need to connect the flash drive to the required device and check the boot parameters, specifying the necessary priorities if necessary. If the settings are correct, the startup will automatically start booting from the external drive.
