CountThings

CountThings is an Android app that allows you to automatically count small items in a photo. You can count coins, stones, insects and so on. There are ready-made templates for quick customization of the mode of operation.

Selecting a photo

After launching the program, you need to upload a new photo. You can select a file through the explorer or take a new photo using the regular camera. The image should contain all the necessary objects. If long objects (pipes or fittings) are used, it is recommended to take a picture of them from the end side so that all elements are clearly visible. In this case, the probability of correct data recognition increases. In the next step, it is possible to select a suitable template that takes into account the characteristics of the items. It is worth considering that the configurations are downloaded from an external server, so network access is required.

Counting

After confirming the settings, you should start the recognition process. The program displays the quantity and also marks the found items with a separate color. The processed image can be saved to a local directory or connected to cloud storage in advance, all popular platforms are supported. In this case, you can access the data from another device or send a link to the image to another user. If the recognition was incorrect, you can switch to manual mode to delete or add an object. The interface has a function of sending incorrect results to the developer. This helps to improve the algorithm and increase the recognition accuracy.
