WSJT X

Usage

The main task of this application is to establish radio exchange, establish radio communication between users, stable transmission of information and work on the air with the support of different protocols for different radio frequencies (JT9, JT65, FT8, JT4 and so on). The program was developed by a radio amateur and is mainly intended for people who use radio devices in everyday life. The experimental software can operate the three main radio broadcasting bands (KV, CB, DV), receive and transmit data.

Features

The main advantage and difference between WSJT X and the nearest identical programs is that during weak signal conditions, the application sends similar commands for both JT9 and JT65 protocols. Therefore, in weak radio conditions, WSJT X can make QSOs. The utility allows the radio amateur to easily and most importantly quickly switch between supported frequencies and find the necessary broadcasting protocol. This feature of the software belongs to a highly specialized area, as most of the supported protocols are related to digital communication devices that are used in industrial environments. While the bulk of radio amateurs choose frequencies JT9 and JT65, designed for household radio communication devices. The signal reception frequency that WSJT X can read is limited to 5 kilohertz. Higher oscillation frequencies are not picked up by the program.

Interface

The graphical component of WSJT X will be understandable only for radio amateurs due to its highly specialized design. Therefore, for ordinary users the program will be difficult to learn. The interface is divided into three blocks: control panel, frequency change panel, support and help center. Since the software developer is an English-speaking amateur radio operator, the whole interface is made with English language support and lack of Russian respectively. There is no sense to rely on the help center, it is also fully Englishified.
