Carene 2008

Carene 2008 is a program that allows you, simply by entering the required parameters, to get a map of boat hull cutting using sheet materials. The solution is rather narrow in its specialization, but extremely easy to use. The work is done in just a couple of steps: entering the cutting parameters and then making edits to the generated drawing. As the Carene 2008 program is very simple, it is very popular with amateur boatbuilders when designing boats up to medium size.

Working with the program

When the user starts Carene 2008 he will only get a special form, in which the data entry of the project to be drawn is available. All the necessary technical parameters of the boat are entered there. The big plus of this solution is that it is able to calculate parameters such as weight load, waterline location and displacement by itself. In addition, it gives a clear scheme of the future appearance of the boat in three projections: front, top and side. Everything is just like in drawing lessons. If there is a need, you can change some lines on the obtained drawing. In general, the functionality of the program is not too wide, so if you need to make serious changes, it is better to change the parameters specified initially, it will be much easier. The advantage here is, compared to other solutions, the availability of project export in DXF format, which is the most common for various drawings. It is supported by modern viewers of programs created for viewing drawings. Also, it is easy to import. In newer versions of Carene 2008 there is an option to visualize VRML, but it does not always work correctly.

Technical information

The program is completely free to download and use. It coordinates perfectly with any version of Windows, with minimum requirements for the system. However, it is not russified until now, but because of the simplicity of the interface, even a person who does not speak English will be able to understand it.
