PyRen is a software that allows you to independently connect to Renault (Dacia) vehicles via the diagnostic bus and analyze the operation of various components of the vehicle. This version of the utility is designed for portable devices based on Android OS. The presented utility works correctly on Android versions from 4.4. It is worth noting that on version 4.2, which were used on smartphones, there is often a problem accessing the adapter. On tablets with a similar version of the operating system no problems with access to the adapter have been detected. The latest version of the script is required for the application to work on Android 8 and higher. To connect to the vehicle, the user will need an ELM adapter, which can be synchronized via Bluetooth protocol.

Error decoding

The main feature of the utility is the ability to decode errors that were detected in the car's ECU or other blocks. In most cases, when scanning a vehicle, only the found error code is displayed, which does not carry any information and does not help to determine the faults. The utility implements an up-to-date database in the format of error codes with a detailed description of the breakdown.

Checking fraudulent activities regarding the mileage

Among the interesting features of the application is the ability to check the current mileage of the car. This functionality will be useful for those who plan to buy a used vehicle. In this case, the current mileage will objectively tell about the condition of the car and its units. The software scans all possible electronic units.
