PlantNet is an application for Android devices that specializes in identifying plant names. It provides the ability to recognize a variety of plant species in photos, including trees, flowers, shrubs, grasses, and more.

Scanner

The app details the characteristics of plants, including their name, species affiliation, and family. To do this, you need to launch the app, provide access to geolocation, and create a photo of the plant. Uploading images from the gallery is also available. Once the image is uploaded, the utility will automatically scan and, based on the available data, provide the most appropriate information about the plant, similar to the functionality of the iNaturalist program. In addition, the application gives you the opportunity to study other users' publications and create your own entries. The more photos with plant names are added to the system, the more extensive and accurate the database becomes.

Encyclopedia

PlantNet provides extensive information about plants. In the app you will find a variety of articles containing interesting facts and knowledge about the plant world. With their help, you can learn about different types of flora around the world, useful plants, weeds, as well as undesirable species in different regions. The app also allows you to quickly find a plant by name, save interesting articles to your favorites, and use filters to classify by genus, family, and species. In addition, links to a variety of topical resources are available.
