Tutanota

Tutanota is an Android utility for organizing secure correspondence, the official client of the email platform of the same name. The infrastructure used is geographically located in Germany. In addition to data protection, all additional tools for communication are provided, including a built-in calendar.

Authorization

After installing the program, you need to create a new account or authorize using an existing one. The service implies two tariffs - free and Premium. The basic tariff provides a 1 Gbyte cloud catalog, full-text search by message (e-mails not older than one month) and one calendar. Paid tariff implies increased storage capacity, a large number of calendars and other useful options.

Security

The developers position the service as a platform that can provide a sufficient level of data protection by modern standards. All information is stored on external servers in encrypted form. However, this has a downside - if a user forgets his password and a special access recovery code (given at the registration stage), it will be impossible to restore the account. The usual schemes of password resetting by sending a short code to the phone or a link to the specified e-mail are not applicable in this configuration.
