Flora Incognita

Flora Incognita is an Android smartphone app for exploring the world around you. Similar to PlantNet , the app allows you to find out the name of a plant based on its photo. Its catalog contains more than four thousand varieties of flowers, cacti, trees and other plants. Users can also save their search history.

Recognition

To start using the app, an account must be created with an e-mail and password. Then the type of plant is selected and a photo of the plant is taken. The recognition process does not take more than three seconds, then a pop-up window gives the name of the plant. The app also provides many information cards with additional information about the plants, including photos and descriptions. It should be noted that this application is not intended for recognizing garden or ornamental species and is focused only on the identification of wild plants.

Distribution

Flora Incognita provides information on the geography of herbs, trees, flowers and shrubs. The application requires permission to access the location to search for plants in the selected region.

History

Information about observations is saved in a separate tab. The history can be exported and shared with other users.
