MagicaVoxel

MagicaVoxel is a Windows application that is a handy voxel graphical editor. The project is open source and can be used, for example, to create your own volumetric models for Minecraft. It is possible to export the created object to OBJ format for use in other projects.

Editing

The main work is done in the main window, which consists of a toolbar, a standard color palette and a working area. It is recommended to start working with adding a simple shape, which is closer to the final model by its dimensions, for example, use a cube or a ball. Then, using the appropriate tools to add or remove pixels, step by step creating the desired model. For each minimal object you can choose your own color or make a fill. Built in its own rendering engine, which somewhat expands the capabilities of the program. The editor is not demanding on hardware resources, which allows you to use it even on weak PCs. Provided a set of ready-made templates that can be used as the basis of the project. More experienced users can use the console to create models using a set of commands.

Export

When finished, the finished project can be saved as a VOX file. Export to other popular formats including 2D, OBJ and XRAW is also supported.
