KidoKiller

KidoKiller is a software tool that allows users to find and disarm a malicious worm called Kido. The application does not have a Russian-language interface. Correct operation of the program is possible on devices running at least Windows XP.

Worm description

The previously mentioned malware has several different names, including Downup, Conflicker and Kido. The worm arrives on the user's device in one of two ways: via the Internet or flash drives. The second option is possible when an external drive is connected to an infected laptop or desktop computer. Once the dangerous software is on the user's device, it starts disabling security services and operating system updates. In addition, the virus blocks the functioning of antivirus utilities, which does not allow you to eliminate it via Norton AntiVirus, Bitdefender or similar software. In addition to the previously described actions, the malicious worm is able to update its protection through various web resources. Therefore, the user may notice an increased load of the Internet connection on the infected device. The worm file itself is stored as a dynamic library with a DLL extension.

Virus removal

This utility was developed because standard antiviruses are unable to stop the activity of such a virus. To get rid of the malware, the user needs to open the application with administrator rights. The next step is to run the analysis. According to its results, the utility will report on the presence or absence of the previously mentioned worm. The user is allowed to remove the virus, after which he will have to reboot the computer or laptop.
