Reason

Reason is a Windows application that is an emulator of a classic rack. You can create and modify music tracks, and virtual instruments are available. An extensive library of effects and samples to work with is built in.

Selecting an instrument

After opening the application, you need to specify the basic parameters of sound recording and activate the desired set of devices. This is done by simply dragging and dropping on the workspace and arranging them in the desired order. This allows you to add only the necessary elements and arrange them as conveniently as possible. If external devices are used, they must also be connected. Various auxiliary equipment is provided, including sequencers and modules for sound processing. To expand the functionality, the user can use plug-ins from a ready-made set or download third-party plug-ins. Synchronization with other programs for working with sound is provided. This feature allows you to significantly expand the functionality of the program.

Recording and editing

While creating tracks, you can use virtual instruments or connect physical devices to record the signal. You can add ready-made samples from the library. It is quite extensive and is divided into convenient categories - guitars, drums and so on. A two-band parametric equalizer is integrated, which can be used to adjust the frequency characteristics. There is a set of ready-made filters that can be used for additional track processing and giving unusual sound to familiar musical instruments.
