Dekart Private Disk Light is a Windows application for creating a virtual secure storage. AES-based encryption is used to protect information. You can save various data - documents, photos, archives and so on.

Virtual disk

At the first launch, the application will offer to create a new protected storage. It has the format of a separate local disk - you need to specify the letter and size of the allocated area. Then you need to specify a password to access the information. At the input stage, the application automatically determines the security level. It is recommended to add numbers and special characters to the set. These recommendations allow you to protect yourself from hacking by selecting the right combination with the help of special software. Next, preparation and formatting of the storage is carried out. After launching such a virtual disk is displayed in the My Computer panel as a separate medium. In the program settings, you can hide it from the list by pressing the Disconnect button. This can be used as an additional protection measure.

Data security

To encrypt a file, simply move it to the storage via Explorer. No additional configuration is required. Two keys are used to keep the data safe. One is used to protect the specified password, and the second is used to encrypt files. This allows you to change the access key without recoding the data. With large amounts of data, this can take a long time. It also provides a more robust protection.
