Description

Ookla is a simple program with a very clear interface that is designed specifically for testing the speed of an Internet connection on a PC. The user can not only find out the current bandwidth of the channel, but also analyze its latency. This may be necessary for some applications or online video games.

Testing

Immediately after installing the application, the user is required to register. To do so, simply enter the data in the appropriate fields and immediately gain access to all Ookla functions. To start testing, you need to press the corresponding button on the main screen. It is quite large, and therefore it will be extremely difficult to miss. Immediately after starting the test, the user will be able to get information about their ISP and IP address. Immediately after checking the ISP, the application will start checking the bandwidth of your internet. To get the most objective data, you should postpone downloading or uploading any materials from or to the network. This is the only way to get the most objective data possible. The point is that Ookla will download small packets of data to check the speed of your connection. Once the throughput is verified, the program will start testing latency. Once all the steps are completed, you will get a report. Ookla allows you to take the link and paste it into any app/chat/email. This way you can send your results to other users.

Logbook

If you need to check your network speed on a regular basis, a special logbook can be useful. This log records data about all tests, as well as the PC's location during the test.

Main features

  • The utility is needed to test the speed of the Internet;
  • It also checks the delay in sending and receiving data;
  • The application keeps a log with test reports.
