Basics of link building

The principles of XMind work are based on the construction of links. In the interface you can choose their format: several types of diagrams (cause-and-effect, tree, logical), mind maps, tables. The creation of an intelligence map in the program is done by identifying logical chains of connections. In XMind they are called sections and represent blocks of different shapes. The construction of tree-like chains starts with the designation of the central block, from which branching into subsections will follow. In spite of the fact that the section is called the central one, it can be located anywhere on the scheme, on the side, top, bottom, depending on the user's decision. In the tabular form of link building, the place of the main section is strictly assigned - the header of the scheme.

Setting parameters

XMind has a rich system of customizing the parameters of individual elements. You can edit both the blocks themselves and their text content. You can change, for example, their color, type, and size. In addition to text, you can add audio notes, images, hyperlinks, even entire files to the project. Mental maps created not in XMind, but in another program with a similar focus can be imported into the program. One such program is FreeMind. Also, mental charts created in the shell can be exported to popular Word, PDF, PowerPoint. You can protect your work with a password, leaving it for personal use. You can also share the project on the World Wide Web, this possibility is provided by the program functionality.
