Description

Code Blocks is a free integrated environment designed for those who use modern programming languages. This solution appears to be one of the best. There is no need to install third-party libraries designed to interpret code. A compiler is built in. It is even suitable for Fortran. All the necessary tools are available in the kit:
  • syntax highlighting option;
  • building structures and snippets;
  • project manager.
The program perfectly copes with finding breakpoints present in data arrays and code. In order to reduce visual load some blocks are hidden. The functions of replacing strings and their addition are applied. These actions are performed in automatic mode. In addition to writing code, the program can be used to create a common graphical interface, which is facilitated by the wxWidgets library integrated into the application. In other words, there are plenty of possibilities. The open architecture facilitates scalability. Through plugins, the functionality can be significantly expanded, the system can be configured to interact with Haskell, Python, Ruby, Java, Perl. In this case, it is desirable to use specialized IDEs to work with these languages. The library already counts more than a hundred plugins. The tone is set by Squirrel, a progressive scripting engine. Creation of projects of different orientation is facilitated by the presence of a large number of ready-made templates, support for various modes of code formatting. Few people consider this IDE obsolete, despite its age. The developers have taken care of introducing a lot of tricks and original options that help simplify the life of coders. The creators of Code Blocks have studied and analyzed the opinions of community members, thanks to which new solutions are constantly implemented and extensions are installed.
