Description

CryEngine 3 is a programming language that is used to create computer games. Crytek used this engine to create beautiful landscapes and textures in their projects. One of the most popular entertainment of that time using this engine is Crysis. This programming language from Crytek, is designed for high-level programmers who work with advanced tools. CryEngine is designed for AAA games - open world and beautiful environments. Crytek decided to promote its "brainchild" on a free license. Most companies that create entertainment use the third generation CryEngine. SDK (Software Development Kit) with a large number of functions provides the development of games of various genres. Far Cry 5, Warface and other popular games were released on this "engine".

Advantages and technical features

CryEngine is an "engine" to work on different operating systems - it has cross-platform in its structure. It provides creation and "porting" of games to computer operating systems, as well as mobile devices. For programmers working on large projects, there are subtle tools that ensure the creation of multiplayer mode in many games. CryEngine bypasses many competitors by using visual components that provide colorful scenery in games. This programming language displays the full capabilities of graphics APIs. This tool transforms the physical parameters of objects. Using the capabilities of the "engine", programmers create complex effects (volumetric smoke, dynamic light) and other projections of the surrounding world. SDK provides drawing graphics in the latest versions of shaders. Game creators import high quality polygons, as well as models from 3D - editors (Maya, 3ds Max and others).

License

CryEngine differs from its main "rivals" ( Unreal Engine and Unity), there is no "commission" on games that are developed by individual companies. This "engine" is distributed in a commercial version. The paid version of the "tool" is used only by huge studios engaged in creating AAA-class games.

Key features

  • developing games with realistic graphics and visual effects;
  • displaying game elements using modern versions of shaders and graphics APIs;
  • "execution" and "output" of 3D objects of complex structure;
  • transfer of ready-made models from 3D editors, which are created in their own shell;
  • subtle tools for "writing" network code;
  • tools for "porting" games to another operating system;
  • the software is distributed free of charge.
