Harmony OS is a mobile operating system from Huawei. OC can be loaded not only on phones, but also on other gadgets, including tablets, watches and TVs.

Functionality

The developers of the operating system paid special attention to innovative features that are not available on Android without third-party utilities and firmware. The main point of OC is that users can use it on all their devices, including kitchen appliances. In this case, we are not talking about the usual synchronization of gadgets, but a complete unification of their work. The operating system is designed to unite various electronic gadgets. At the same time, for the correct operation of OC without errors, you need at least 128 megabytes of RAM, which is not so much. Therefore, download this operating system is allowed even on outdated gadgets. At the moment, the operating system does not work on all devices planned for this purpose. In the future, developers want to adapt the OC for headphones, printers, smart glasses, cars and so on. For convenient use of the system on different devices, users can use a common control center. Its functionality allows you to:

• Output videos to any connected devices, including tablets and TVs;
• Send commands to a smart refrigerator to change its temperature, for example;
• Transfer data from the treadmill to watches and bracelets;
• Open doors in your home if they are part of a smart home system;
• Send cooking recipes to appliances;
• Simultaneously work on the screens of different devices, for example, a laptop and a personal computer.

The operating system has a common system for all gadgets to protect against errors and troubleshoot various problems. Therefore, switching between devices is extremely convenient and easy.

Supported phones

At the moment, access to the operating system is provided to a limited number of mobile gadgets. Among them there are models from the company Huawei itself and phones from partners. The goal of the creators is to reach one billion devices. The following gadgets have priority access to the OC:

• MatePad Pro 2019;
• P40;
• Mate 40;
• Mate 30.

Also, owners of other smartphones including MediaPad M6, Nova 5 Pro, S Smart Screen and Enjoy Z 5G can get the operating system. The entire list of mobile devices on which the OC is allowed to be installed can be explored on the official website of the developers.

Installing OC

If the user has a device that is in the list of supported gadgets on the manufacturer's website, then he can download OC to his phone. The first thing to do is to launch an application called AppGallery through it you need to download the program Huawei Club finally, in it, the user needs to go through the registration process or log in to an existing account. After that, the utility will offer to agree to participate in various tests. If all the above actions have been completed, the user has to wait for the developers to send a file to download the operating system. You can start the installation from the settings menu of the smartphone. It should be noted that the operating system has support for the Russian language. Nevertheless, it can not be put on devices that do not have a Chinese SIM card and firmware. In the future, the situation may change. Also on OC there are no services from Google. Instead, programs from Huawei are installed.
