Xabber

Xabber is an Android messenger based on the XMPP protocol. You can connect several accounts, send files and save contacts. It is possible to create conferences and chats.

Account

To access the platform, you need to register in advance. The utility is a mobile client of the Jabber platform, so you can use the account of this service. The free tariff implies the storage of history for 30 days, the maximum volume of the transferred file is 100 megabytes. To get advanced features, you need to purchase a subscription. Available payment methods and terms are displayed at the initial stage of registration. You also need to link your e-mail or social network account to your account. This information is used to restore access if the user has forgotten the password. In this case, it is possible to initiate a password reset by receiving instructions through the linked account.

Settings and contacts

To add a new contact, you need to specify a user name. The program saves the history of dialogs and the list of chats; cloud infrastructure is used for storage. In the settings you can disable synchronization with the cloud, in this case correspondence will be saved directly on the device. Contacts can be edited, grouped and block certain users. Available settings allow you to flexibly customize the privacy mode. Separately customizable status display, notification system, spam filtering. An automatic startup function is available when the device is turned on. For a group you can also specify the level of privacy and the mode of adding new users, there is a function of administration and adding powers to other participants.
