XNA Framework

XNA Framework is a set of libraries used by creators of .NET applications. The main feature of this "framework" is that it is used to create games for OS Windows. This component uploads XNA libraries to OS Windows that allow creators to work with OS Windows applications. The graphical shell of this development environment is designed for the advanced user who creates projects and games that are old generation. Correct operation of these games is ensured after the libraries are installed on the user's computer. Simply put, if you do not install this package of software tools you will not be able to play some games. In particular, you will not run projects that were created between 2008 and 2012. Microsoft stopped releasing XNA Framework packages in 2013. Next-generation games use engines like Unreal Engine 4 unity 3D and CryEngine 4 which run projects using other technologies.

Purpose

At first XNA Framework was published for simplified code input. The creators thought that the "framework" would make it easier to "port" projects from consoles to computers. This approach allowed to reduce the cost of project development. The framework also made it possible to add additional technologies to games that are responsible for visualization. Using XNA, developers designed beautiful smoke and other effects that use a complex structure of particles. In addition to making the games themselves easier to create, the toolkit provided integration into Xbox Live. Once a proprietary development environment was created to help unlock the full potential of this technology. Soon the framework was not as perfect as we would have liked and this project was closed.

Compatibility

Libraries cannot be run on OS Windows 8 and above. In fact, there is no point in installing them on new hardware and operating systems. Installation of the software component package is designed for automatic mode and requires almost no action from the user.
