Mathpix

Mathpix is the official Android client of the popular Internet resource of the same name. It allows you to quickly digitize formulas and equations, including handwritten versions. The result can be converted into various formats, including TSV, HTML, LaTeX and MathML. This allows you to use them in popular text editors and spreadsheets.

Registration and Subscription

To access the functionality, you need to register - this requires going to the official website, the procedure is standard. The basic (free) tariff implies a limit of 50 equations per month. To remove the limit, you need to purchase a paid subscription.

Scanning and solving

The start page of the program displays a proposal to make a new scan. It is worth considering that for this operation the application needs to grant access rights to the smartphone camera. By pointing the focus, it is possible to select a certain area, which will be loaded. Artificial intelligence is used for recognition - the photo is sent to an external server. The recognition result is displayed on the next tab and looks like a string with a formula. Below there are tools for converting to different formats. In this form, the data set is correctly recognized by third-party programs, including Microsoft office suite. The next tab allows you to search for the correct solution on various forums and online resources. The used neural network is not limited only to searching for the final solution. It is possible to simplify the initial equation, plot the graph of the function or display the available variants of solutions.

The last tab contains a set of settings for the result formatting parameters, popular questions and a help section.
