SmartSky

SmartSky is an official Android application designed for use in structures that provide flight operations. The utility accumulates information about air routes, natural and artificial obstacles and so on.

Authorization

Access to the application is possible only after specifying credentials, but only a limited number of specialists can receive this for authentication. To create a personal account, it is necessary to send an official request to BAI Online representatives, adding the necessary documents and confirmations.

Sections and information

In the process of functioning, the program loads data from various sources, including synchronization with the NOTAM system. The following categories are available in the main menu:

• database, including the current airspace structure;
• raster maps;
• procedures (departure and arrival charts are present).

The Raster Maps section allows you to download IFR and VFR packages to your smartphone. Files of this type can have a significant volume, so it is recommended to connect to a stable network with good data transfer speed during the downloading stage.

Navigation

In this mode, the current location of the aircraft is displayed. The map uses georeferencing. The algorithm of content output implies the use of several independent layers. This allows displaying all necessary service information and elements required to ensure safe flight along the selected route. Pilots have the ability to create new routes and save them to memory. There is a function of manual creation of WPT points, a mode of entering coordinates with subsequent saving.
