dirLock

dirLock is a Windows application for additional protection of certain directories. It is possible to lock personal data with a password.

Customization

After installing and launching the program, you will be prompted to set a master password that will be used to access folders. It should be taken into account that this key will be used for all added folders, different ones cannot be set. There is no access recovery system, so it is recommended to write down the password at once. In case of loss, files cannot be retrieved. Integration with the standard context menu is provided. A Lock/UnLock option is added, which allows you to quickly change the protection status without launching the main program. The full list of protected objects is displayed in the main program window.

Protection

To restrict access to the catalog, call its context menu and select the appropriate item. A password prompt will be displayed to confirm the password. You must enter the required set of characters and confirm the action. If an unauthorized user tries to access such a folder, a corresponding notification will be displayed. The access will remain locked until the correct key is entered. Unlocking is also quite simple. You need to select UnLock selected directory in the program interface and confirm the action with a password. Additional protection measures are also provided. You can encrypt data or hide folders from Explorer to make access to them more difficult.
