Description

TexMod is a free simple universal tool that allows you to search, edit and load non-standard textures into various computer games. The program is easy to use, unpacking TPF packages into the game client is done with a few keystrokes. In addition, the utility allows you to do the opposite: unload textures from the game client for further editing. During the use of the program does not change the file system of the game, so you will not need any other specialized modding programs.

Key features

  • English language interface;
  • free access;
  • works without installation on the computer;
  • minimal set of functions, does not require customization by a specialist;
  • ability to write, embed and extract TPF files;
  • works with Direct3D applications.

Compatibility

The utility works with any Direct3D applications. It is actively used by players in various parts of the series Tomb Raider and Mass Effect and many others. Textures can be drawn independently, and you can download from specialized game forums, where there are many "packs" for installation.

Basics of work

The application is ready to use without installation, just download and run it. The program shell is not russified, but has a simple and intuitive set of functions, which does not require special knowledge of English to use. TexMod has one working window, which can be operated in three working modes: batch download, write, build. Most users use only the first of them, in the program it is called Package Mode.

Working modes

In the package mode of the utility, Package Mode, mods are loaded. It is done very simply: you specify the path to the game's startup file, in which modifications will be added, and in the list below are added texture files in list form. These files must be in TPF format. The files are loaded in order of priority: from the top to the bottom. Logging Mode records the textures that are affected by the game at the time of use. There are functions that allow the user to choose which of the textures should be saved for later editing. In Package Build mode the modification file is compiled into a TPF package. At this stage you can add your authorship to the "package" and leave a comment. The resulting file can be shared with other users.
